Upcoming Workshops

Cochrane Canada is offering two-days of workshops as part of our 2012 Presymposium in Winnipeg, Manitoba. One of the six workshops being offered is:

Using the Rx for Change interventions database: Linking the evidence to action for policymakers, health system managers and researchers”

Date: Monday, 7 May 2012
Time: 0930h - 1200h
Cost: $50 (includes morning break)
Capacity: 36 registrants

Faculty:

  • Julia Worswick, Cochrane Effective Practice and Organisation of Care (EPOC) Review Group;
  • Katrina Sullivan, Cochrane Effective Practice and Organisation of Care (EPOC) Review Group;
  • Alain Mayhew, Managing Editor, Cochrane Effective Practice and Organisation of Care (EPOC) Review Group

Synopsis:
Trying to find and analyse needed evidence can be timely and costly for decision makers and others. Rx for Change is a publicly accessible database that provides one-stop access to summaries of key findings from quality assessed systematic reviews on interventions to improve evidence based delivery of care practices and consumers’ use of medicines.

In this interactive workshop, we will provide participants with an overview of the database, its structure and how it can be used to inform decisions, justify research and identify evidence gaps. Participants will have the opportunity to search the database for evidence and gain an understanding of the evidence retrieved and how they might apply it to real world situations.

Early registration ends 1 March 2012, so click here to sign up today! To learn more about the other Presymposium workshops being offered, click here.

Reference Management for Systematic Reviews

Here find the slideshow from a workshop in Madrid. The slideshow focusses on file management and naming conventions to organize systematic review search results. Additional materials, template databases, import filters, and instructional notes focus on Reference Manager software. Questions about this content may be directed to Michelle Fiander, EPOC TSC.
